About

Every English learner’s journey is different. I help intermediate–advanced speakers refine their pronunciation, identify what’s holding them back from their accent goals, and give them the tools to move forward with clarity and confidence.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Jessie

I'm a Canadian "American" Accent Coach helping intermediate–advanced English-learning immigrants in the U.S. and Canada reduce their accent and speak more naturally.

As a language learner myself, I’ve always been fascinated by why some people achieve the accent and pronunciation they want while others still sound foreign — sometimes even difficult to understand, even after years of learning. This curiosity carried over into my teaching and coaching, and it’s what led me to become an accent coach — so I can help people the way I wish I had been helped.

My Story

I’ve always wondered why some people seem to pick up an accent effortlessly while others work for years and still struggle. As a language learner myself, I know the frustration of feeling like something in your speech sounds “off,” but not knowing what's "off", and how to change it.

That curiosity pushed me to dive deep into pronunciation, stress, and rhythm in English, not only to improve my own skills but also to help others. Today, I work with learners from all over the world to refine their pronunciation, identify what’s holding them back, and give them the tools to speak clearly and confidently.

Why I Do It

I’m passionate about languages and how people acquire them. Over the years, I’ve seen learners who have lived in English-speaking countries for decades still struggle to be understood, and others who arrive with no English and speak fluently within months.

As a language learner myself, I know the frustration of being asked to repeat myself, sensing something isn’t quite right, and wishing for a guide. My French phonetics teachers and other professors showed me what can be truly helpful, and I’ve carried those tools into my own language-learning and teaching. At the same time, my experience as a learner also revealed what was missing — and that gap is what motivates me to equip myself to better support English learners today.

Now, I help intermediate–advanced English speakers refine their pronunciation, uncover what’s holding them back, and gain the clarity and confidence they need to live the life they want.
