Looking for Volunteers π (New "Course" on Stress, Rhythm & Intonation in American English)
Mar 26, 2026
I need your help.
I’m creating a new compact course (or mini-resource) on
Stress, Rhythm, and Intonation in English.
And here’s the truth most learners don’t realize:
π You can have great pronunciation
π You can say all the sounds correctly
But…
π If your stress, rhythm, or intonation is off
your accent will sound off too
Why This Matters
Most English courses focus on sounds.
But real English is not just about sounds.
π It’s about…
- how you connect your words
- how sounds change and blend together
- how sounds sometimes disappear
- how native speakers actually speak in real life
π And it’s also about…
- which words you stress
- the rhythm of your sentence
- how your voice moves (intonation)
These Are the Missing Pieces
The first part… I teach inside Native Speaker Secrets.
π I teach you how to decode fast English
and understand the real patterns native speakers use in everyday speech
But…
Even if you understand those patterns…
π If your stress, rhythm, or intonation is off
your English can still sound:
- "foreign"
- unnatural
- or “not quite right”
Here’s why:
β Incorrect stress can lead to misunderstandings
You stress the wrong word → the meaning changes
You stress the wrong syllable → you might not be understood
β Incorrect rhythm makes you harder to follow
People can probably understand you…
but they have to work harder and focus more
β Intonation changes how you’re perceived
You might:
- want to sound confident → but sound unsure
- need to sound authoritative → but lose credibility
- not be done saying something → but people interrupt you because they think you are finished speaking
π So even with “good pronunciation”…
Your message, your confidence, and how people perceive you
can all be affected
What I’m Creating
A short, practical resource to help you:
- sound more natural
- improve your rhythm and flow
- use more accurate stress and intonation
- feel more confident when you speak
π Not technical
π Not overwhelming
π Focused on real-life English
And built using real examples from real learners
What This Will Cover (Draft)
Here’s the rough structure of what I’m building:
Module 1: Rhythm
How English is timed and why it sounds “fast”
Module 2: Intonation
How your voice moves and changes meaning
Module 3: Sentence Stress
Which words matter and how meaning shifts
Module 4: Word Stress
How stress inside words affects clarity
The case study and voice message reviews might be its own module or a part of different modules. :)
π This is a working draft
and part of this case study is refining it based on real learners
I’m Looking for Volunteers
I want to build this with you.
Here’s how it will work:
- I’ll create a temporary Telegram group (4-6 weeks in April & May)
- You’ll be able to send voice messages, questions, and examples
- I’ll give feedback and use real submissions to build the course
π By joining and submitting voice messages, you agree that your recordings may be used as course materials
This means:
- you get personal feedback (for free)
- you help create a valuable resource for future students
β οΈ A quick note about feedback:
Not every voice message will receive individual feedback.
Instead, I’ll focus on the most common patterns I hear and share feedback with the group.
At times, I may also highlight specific voice messages as examples to help everyone learn.
This way, you’re not only learning from your own speech, but from others as well.
