Is the Accent Training Companion Course Enough to Improve Your Pronunciation?
Oct 29, 2026
Short answer: the course gives you the roadmap, but you'll also need targeted practice, real conversations and feedback to change your accent.
What the course is designed to do
The Accent Training Companion Course teaches you how accent reduction actually works. Most learners waste months on practice that doesn't move the needle, like repeating random words or watching endless videos.
The course gives you a clear framework instead. You learn what to focus on, in what order, and why, so your practice time goes into the high-impact activities that change how you sound.
Think of it as your roadmap. It's not a drill book or a conversation class.
Where targeted practice comes in
Once you understand the framework, you need to apply it to the specific sounds you want to change. This is where targeted pronunciation exercises come in!
That's what the Member Library is for. (Although, you probably can find some one YouTube as well... I MIGHT HAVE SOME here in the playlists by sounds lists).
But more about the Member Library... it holds targeted pronunciation exercises, and I'm adding new ones all the time. You pick the sounds that matter most for your accent and train them directly. Note: If I am still offering access to my Member Library to self-study students, it will most likely still require a membership.
Real-life conversation practice
No course replaces actually speaking with people. Real conversations are where new sounds become automatic, under real pressure and at real speed.
A few ways to get that practice:
- Talk with native speakers around you. If you live in an English-speaking area, coworkers, neighbors and local meetups are all practice.
- Find a language exchange partner online. You help them with your language, they help you with English.
- Use AI conversation tools. Apps like LangoTalk (affiliate link) give you low-pressure daily speaking practice whenever you have a few minutes.
Getting feedback along the way
You can't always hear your own mistakes. That's why feedback matters at every stage, no matter which course or method you use.
The feedback should come from someone qualified to give it: an accent coach, or a teacher or native speaker with the accent you're aiming for.
If you want a clear starting point, my Quick Accent Feedback (an upsell when you purchase the course) tells you exactly which sounds to prioritize. My private coaching clients get ongoing feedback throughout their program. For a more budget-friendly option, a native speaker friend or tutor can listen and point out what to adjust.
The bottom line
The course gives you the roadmap. The Member Library gives you the exercises. Real conversations and regular feedback bring it all together.
Wishing you the best on your accent training journey,
Jess [Accent Coach]
